Microneedling achieves transformative results for both skin and hair. By working on two levels, this minimally invasive procedure has become one of our most popular treatments.

On the surface, shallow microneedling creates microchannels in the skin. These tiny openings allow serums enriched with active ingredients to penetrate deeper layers of the skin, enhancing their effectiveness. When performed at greater depths, microneedling activates the skin’s natural healing process, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. These are essential proteins for maintaining skin elasticity, smoothness, and radiance.

The benefits don’t stop there. When microneedling is paired with advanced technologies like radiofrequency (RF), as seen in devices like EndyMed INTENSIF or Morpheus8, the results are even more impressive. This combination supercharges skin rejuvenation, offering improvements in skin texture, elasticity, and overall vibrancy.

However, microneedling is not just for the face. We have found it to be highly effective for scalp treatments as well. By creating microchannels on the scalp to allow deep penetration of serums packed with active ingredients, it helps optimize scalp health. This creates the ideal environment for stronger, healthier hair growth.

Why Choose Us?

Dr Victoria pioneered the introduction of surgical derma rollers and derma stamping in Scotland over 15 years ago. While these early tools were effective, they were less comfortable for patients, which meant she quickly embraced innovation transitioning from traditional rollers to the Dermaroller®, then to microneedling pens, and finally to the gold standard in RF microneedling - the EndyMed® INTENSIF.

Our commitment to innovation and excellence ensures that we remain at the forefront of microneedling treatments. By leveraging multiple devices and tailoring each procedure to the individual’s unique needs, we deliver unparalleled results in skin and hair rejuvenation.

What Are the Benefits of Microneedling?

Our most popular needling treatments are for:

Dull Crepey Skin

Microneedling stimulates cellular turnover and repair, leaving the skin brighter, fresher, and healthier. This is especially beneficial for individuals seeking a natural glow or combating the effects of aging and environmental damage.

Melasma

Melasma, a condition characterized by dark, patchy pigmentation, can be challenging to treat. Microneedling delivers bioactive serums directly to the dermis, helping to reduce the appearance of melasma without the risks associated with harsher treatments like lasers.

Facial Redness

For those struggling with sensitivity and redness, microneedling helps strengthen the skin’s barrier function. By infusing calming serums into the dermis, the treatment reduces inflammation and restores balance to sensitive skin.

Skin Laxity

As we age, collagen production slows, leading to sagging skin. Microneedling combats this by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, resulting in firmer, plumper skin. This makes it an excellent choice for reducing mild to moderate skin laxity.

Scarring

Whether caused by acne, surgery, or injury, scars can be a source of insecurity. Microneedling breaks down scar tissue and promotes collagen remodeling, leading to smoother, more even skin texture over time.

Stretch Marks

Stretch marks, often a result of rapid weight changes or pregnancy, can be challenging to minimize. Microneedling encourages collagen repair, fading and softening the appearance of stretch marks for a more uniform skin tone.

Hair Growth

For those experiencing thinning hair or early signs of hair loss, microneedling is effective when combined with serums that promote angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels), it boosts oxygen and nutrient delivery to hair follicles. This restores scalp health, encouraging stronger and healthier hair growth.

For people with olive to darker skin tones, it significantly reduces the risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation associated with chemical peels or laser treatments. However, it is not recommended for any person with a predisposition to keloid scarring.

What is collagen induction therapy?

Collagen induction therapy (and skin needling) are other terms used to describe microneedling.

What is Morpheuse8?

Morpheuse8 is a microneedling pen that combines RF similar to EndyMed INTENSIF.  EndyMed INTENSIF is often regarded as a more comfortable treatment with faster recovery compared to Morpheus8. Its gold-plated needles are thinner and penetrate deeper into the skin with fewer passes, leading to shorter treatment sessions and reduced discomfort for patients.

Are dermapens safe?

Dermapen treatments are safe and effective when performed by a regulated clinic and qualified practitioners. Healthcare Improvement Scotland, inspects out clinic environment, products and staff credentials to meet approved standards, so you know you are in safe hands.

Does microneedling hurt?

Skin needling for creating microchannels has minimal discomfort as the a maximum depth is below 1.5 mm. It can feel a bit scratchy, but your practitioner will vary the settings during treatment areas to maximise comfort.

For needling deeper than 1.5 mm your practitioner will apply a topical anaesthetic to minimise discomfort. For certain treatments a local anaesthetic block may be injected to ensure maximum comfort.

Stretch marks: RF vs Microneedling?

Microneedling is more effective than standalone RF for repairing skin damage from stretching, as the needles break down scar tissue and boost collagen production.

RF alone promotes skin tightening and collagen but doesn't address scar tissue, but is good at skin tightening. The best results are achieved when they are combined.
